Practitioner Notes
For systems processing classified information, this enhancement requires compliance with national Emissions Security (EMSEC/TEMPEST) policies and procedures based on the classification level of the information.
Example 1: If your facility processes classified information, work with your cognizant security agency to determine TEMPEST countermeasure requirements. This may include purchasing TEMPEST-certified equipment from the NSA EPL, implementing zone-of-control measures, or conducting TEMPEST assessments.
Example 2: Maintain your TEMPEST countermeasures documentation as required by your security plan. This includes equipment certifications, zone measurements, and any waivers or risk acceptances. Have your TEMPEST program reviewed during your facility security inspections.
